Well as you will have read in a recent post I am "Atlasing " my local areas and loving it. I cover quite a large area during my Lion research and as such I can contribute to this project perhaps for remote areas where other atlasers can't get to.
Some of you will maybe remember me mention and area of the park called Ngamo. When it is wet I feel it is one of the very best areas for birds in the whole of Hwange and I filled an atlas card the other day with species like Yellow-billed Storks, Wattled Lapwings etc.
I saw a new species for me in Hwange, the Great White Pelican and atlased that as well as the African cousin of the Ruddy Duck..........the Macoa duck. Neither of these birds have been atlased in these areas before so that is exciting.
If you are not out there doing it already......get out there and start Atlasing your patch!
