Today whilst out tracking lions I stopped to watch one of the oddest looking birds, the Hammerkop Scopus umbretta, as it fished around a muddy puddle for frogs. I thought "if it only looked down and saw its reflection!"
I marvelled at how my wife loves this bird and thinks of it as one of her very favourites and that got me thinking about one of her other favourites....the Grey Go-away bird. That too is rather dull and somewhat ugly! was there a pattern here?
Finally as i drove off i started to wonder if her selection of me was founded on similar grounds......
