Photography: Birds and Lions together!

As you may have realised, I study lions for a living and as such get to spend a great deal of time in the Hwange national park tracking the study animals. As you may also have realised I am something of a bird-nutter and so I have decided to set myself a nice little challenge!

                                                              Combine the two!!

 

 

Each and every month I will post a photo of a different species of bird and a lion in the same frame......

Finally I have managed to get a bird in flight photo that I am happy with.....

Yesterday I saw this Batleur eagle drinking at a pan, set up the camera with a fast shutter speed, adjusted the f-stop to keep a reasonable depth of field and wound up the ISO and as it took off.............. I let rip!!
