Larking about!

As your life list increases and you have ticked off the more obvious birds around you, you start taking notice of those harder species to separate like the LBJs, larks and pipits.
I liken it to receiving a box of "quality streets" at Christmas. You open it up and you are either the "green triangle type" or the one who goes for the"big purple one with the nut inside" and that is a law of nature.
I have never met someone who opens up that pink tin and rummages around for a "toffee"...have you?

In birding that translates into ......you did not start birding with LBJs!!

Well I have started looking for "toffees" and when a fairly drab bird flitted up ahead of my cruiser and landed on a small termite mound I swung the 600 that way and snapped a few shots of my first "Dusky Lark!".....not a toffee at all and a new lifer for me
