Well it all came together at the eleventh hour so to speak and I finally got a shot I have visualised all year.
I found a so called "termite alate event" with an almost unbelievable amount of birds swooping, darting and snapping at the termites as they emerged from the ground. There were Marabous, guinea fowl, yellow-billed kites, black kites, wahlberg's eagles, tawny eagles, barn swallows in their numbers.
With my 600mm lens I only have manual focus so I focused on a termite as it flew up vertically and when I spotted a bird incoming from the corner of my eye I snapped the shutter in the hopes of catching the action.
This is the best result!!
All the best for 2013
