As with many different types of photography...the eye of your subject is often "all important". We, as social beings, are programmed to look at the eye to search for subtle (or ...not so subtle!) communications and it is often the first thing we "see" when we view a photograph.
As I have slowed right down and really concentrated in getting better photographs of birds I find that even in the height of an action sequence I am looking to get the eye in focus first.
A slight glint of light of the eye...seals the deal!
This little Cameroptera didn't sit still for long yesterday but I still kept my cool and managed to "get the eye"
