Those illusive Bustards!

With its grassy plains and dry scrub lands, Hwange is home to a large number of both the Kori Bustard and the Red-crested Korhaan. We probably see at least one of these birds every day that we are in the park but occasionally we get to see two other species.
These are the Black-bellied Bustard and the Stanley's Bustard. I have yet to get a picture of the Stanley's as I have only seen it twice but I did manage to get a great sighting of the Black-bellied the other day. He was standing in the Vlei calling in the last of the evening light.

Go to http://www.xeno-canto.org/africa/browse.php?query=black-bellied+bustard&species_nr= for a recording of its call.

My next mission is to get a picture of that other "illusive Bustard"

The Hwange Birder
