Common Myna in Hwange!

The Common Myna Acridotheres tristisa  is an alien invasive species that has worked its way North of Durban where it went feral. The species has i believe been seen in Bulawayo but until recently had not made it into hwange. Well my wife and son and I were heading to an area deep in the park when we stopped in at Shapi pan. There foraging in the new grass a bird caught my eye because of its unusual colour and the shape of the head struck me as different too. When i put the bins to it i nearly had a heart attack! This as far as i know is the furthest North the species has been seen and as a bird that is usually associated with the urban habitat is quite remarkable for Hwange.
The species is considered "vermin" and i have had many people ask why i did not shoot it.

Worryingly i saw a second individual as i drove away so there are at least 2!!
